commemorative mason jars: are you missing yours?, and care of
Hello, attendees:
Some of you went home without your mason jar ... if you want it back (or want a new one), please contact one of the prom team co-chairs, Kirsten or Kimmy (see email links at the bottom of this linked page [click here]).
For those who are interested in such things, all of the jars are marked for 5 oz, 8 oz, and 12 oz pours:
5oz: the bottom point of the bottom left star
8oz: the top point of the bottom left star
12 oz: the top point of the big star on the right
(the top left star is merely for artistic balance ;) )
Care of the mason jars:
The glass paint is pretty sturdy; in testing, it has lasted just fine through repeated dishwashing, boiling water in the microwave, and hand washing ... but if you take something abrasive and scrub quite hard, it will start to wear off.
P.S. If anyone wants 96 unused canning lids, please contact Kirsten by the end of May ;). Otherwise they will go to Goodwill :).

Starry Night: early reporting
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated time or money, or otherwise contributed to Portland Village School's spring fundraiser, “Starry Night”!
We had a great time Saturday night. The decoration team transformed the basketball gym into a gracefully canopied space crowned by our old – but newly-bejeweled! – giant turnip. Many attendees went all-out on their outfits, and there was a flash mob "Walk Like an Egyptian" that will be talked about for ages!
Our initial receipts are looking very solid, which is great news.

Thank you!
Your Prom Team Co-Chairs,
Kirsten Rayhawk and Kimmy Scarpine

Closing buisness: dishes and lost and found
Within the next 24 hours I plan to set up a lost-and-found box and a dishes-return box in the main (basement) kitchen, on the central shelves that act as a room divider.
If you helped clean up and graciously adopted an orphan pan or dish to take home at that end of Starry Night, please bring it back to school (cleaned ;) ) and leave it for pickup in the kitchen downstairs.
If you, like me, were one of the latest cleanup crew and ended up taking miscellaneous personal left-items home, please bring those (cleaned if needed ;) ) to the basement kitchen as soon as possible also.
Ideally, ALL homeless items would be in the pickup area by *this Friday,* May 24, so people have three weeks to remember to pick them up before school ends!

Closing business: dress exchange dresses
To the women who have borrowed dresses from the dress exchange ("borrowed," meaning, there was a name on the dress, which means the owner wanted it returned): please make sure you have the dress cleaned and ready to return by next Friday (May 31). Unless you have heard otherwise from the owner, please have the dress professionally dry-cleaned.
You can either contact the owner using your school directory and return the dress directly to her, or bring the dress to the scrip table and Carie Folz will make sure it gets home :).
